YOUR PRACTITIONER

Hi! I’m Mackenzie, a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and owner of We Move Here. I grew up in a small country town on the Eyre Peninsula, SA, where I experienced how exercise and movement brought our community together. I also saw firsthand how limited access to quality healthcare services impacted the physical and mental wellbeing of our community.

Through my tertiary study and clinical practice, I have discovered a love for working with all populations to provide opportunities for optimising wellness and function through exercise. This is a process I find great joy in, and I wanted to bring the opportunity to access this service to everybody’s doorstep.

As a result, We Move Here was born, with a goal of optimising wellness through movement, and providing access to quality healthcare for all, regardless of your postcode.

WHAT IS EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY?

Exercise Physiologists are University-trained Allied Health professionals who specialise in using exercise and physical activity to improve health, fitness and overall well-being across diverse populations. Our role is to leverage the benefits of exercise in a safe, effective, and individualised manner to help you optimise your health.

Exercise Physiology is like the owner's manual for your body when it comes to physical activity. It's the science behind how our bodies respond and adapt to exercise, encompassing everything from how our musculoskeletal system adapts to how we can change our biochemistry to enhance cardiovascular, metabolic, respiratory and neurological function.

TELEHEALTH

Exercise Physiology services delivered via Telehealth offers a convenient and accessible way for individuals to receive expert guidance and support for their exercise journey, regardless of geographical location.

Sessions are conveniently conducted in your own home, and you are able to access your individualised exercise program via an app. In addition, you are easily connected to your practitioner who can provide support at any time via text or email.

RUNNERS

We Move Here offers biomechanical analysis and specified exercise testing, along with a run tracker document that automatically tracks your weekly running load and weekly training schedule all in one place.

Why is this so great? An individualised training program can help you to improve your running efficiency, reduce your risk of acquiring over-use injuries and increase enjoyment.

Anyone who runs, albeit slow, fast, short or long, is considered a 'runner' in my books! I enjoy helping individuals with all levels of experience improve on their running journey.
